| A gene ( btrC 2 ) encoding the 20 kDa subunit of 2 deoxy scyllo inosose ( DOI ) synthase , a key enzyme in the biosynthesis of 2 deoxystreptamine , was identified from the butirosin producer Bacillus circulans by reverse genetics . ^^^ The deduced amino acid sequence of BtrC 2 closely resembled that of YaaE of B . subtilis , but the function of the latter has not been known to date . ^^^ Instead , BtrC 2 appeared to show sequence similarity to a certain extent with HisH of B . subtilis , an amidotransferase subunit of imidazole glycerol phosphate synthase . ^^^ Disruption of btrC 2 reduced the growth rate compared with the wild type , and simultaneously antibiotic producing activity was lost . ^^^ In addition , a heterologous co expression system of btrC 2 with btrC was constructed in Escherichia coli . ^^^ |

| BetaTrCP and HOS are closely related F box proteins , which play key roles in ubiquitination and degradation of beta catenin and IkappaB through associating with those phosphorylated substrates and recruiting SCF E 3 ubiquitin ligase . ^^^ Here we report that activation of Wnt / beta catenin signal transduction pathway elevates betaTrCP levels but inhibits expression of HOS in 293T cells . ^^^ In the NIH3T3 cells , which express HOS , but not betaTrCP , Wnt / beta catenin signaling leads to inhibition of HOS promoter activity and NF kappaB driven transcription as well as to stabilization of beta catenin . ^^^ |
