| The missing Sm D 1 and D 2 subunits are replaced by U 7 specific Sm like proteins Lsm 10 and Lsm 11 , at least the latter of which is important for histone RNA processing . ^^^ Here we describe several putative invertebrate Lsm 10 and Lsm 11 orthologs that display low but clear sequence similarity to their vertebrate counterparts . ^^^ Immunoprecipitation studies in Drosophila S 2 cells indicate that the Drosophila Lsm 10 and Lsm 11 orthologs ( dLsm 10 and dLsm 11 ) associate with each other and with Sm B , but not with Sm D 1 and D 2 . ^^^ |

| U 7 snRNP contains three novel proteins , Lsm 10 and Lsm 11 , which are part of the core U 7 Sm complex , and ZFP 100 , a Zn finger protein that helps stabilize binding of the U 7 snRNP to the histone pre mRNA by interacting with the SLBP / pre mRNA complex . ^^^ The overexpression of Lsm 10 and Lsm 11 increases the cellular levels of U 7 snRNP but has no effect on histone pre mRNA processing , while increasing the amount of ZFP 100 increases histone pre mRNA processing but has no effect on U 7 snRNP levels . ^^^ |
