| Heat shock protein 90 and Cdc 37 interact with LKB 1 and regulate its stability . ^^^ In this study we have purified LKB 1 from cells and establish that it is associated with the heat shock protein 90 ( Hsp 90 ) chaperone and the Cdc 37 kinase specific targetting subunit for Hsp 90 . ^^^ We demonstrate that Cdc 37 and Hsp 90 bind specifically to the kinase domain of LKB 1 . ^^^ We also perform experiments using Hsp 90 inhibitors , which indicate that the association of Hsp 90 and Cdc 37 with LKB 1 regulates LKB 1 stability and prevents its degradation by the proteasome . ^^^ |
