Immunofluorescence studies of NDH 2 gave a highly diffused nucleoplasmic staining that was similar to that of hnRNP A 1 but differed from the localization of the RNA splicing factor Sc 35 . ^^^ The timing of nuclear import of NDH 2 at telophase was found to be later than that of hnRNP A 1 but paralleled that of Sc 35 . ^^^ At the ultrastructural level , both NDH 2 and hnRNP A 1 were identified within perichromatin ribonucleoparticle fibrils . ^^^ However , the subnuclear distributions of NDH 2 and hnRNP A 1 were not overlapping . ^^^ |

NDH 2 and hnRNP C from the HeLa nuclear extract coeluted with F actin on Sepharose 4B in an RNase resistant manner , whereas hnRNP A 1 was nearly completely removed from F actin associated hnRNP complexes following RNA digestion . ^^^ The association of NDH 2 and hnRNP C with F actin was abolished by gelsolin , an F actin depolymerizing protein that fragments actin polymers into oligomers or monomers . ^^^ Furthermore , NDH 2 co immunoprecipitated with F actin and hnRNP C , respectively . ^^^ In vitro translated NDH 2 coeluted with F actin on Sepharose 4B , whereas no coelution with F actin was observed for in vitro translated hnRNP A 1 or C 1 . ^^^ Electron microscopy indicated a close spatial proximity among NDH 2 , hnRNP C , and F actin within the HeLa nucleus . ^^^ |
