| The Rab27a binding protein , JFC 1 , regulates androgen dependent secretion of prostate specific antigen and prostatic specific acid phosphatase . ^^^ In the present paper , we provide evidence that JFC 1 [ synaptotagmin like protein ( slp 1 ) ] , a Rab27a and PtdIns ( 3 , 4 , 5 ) P 3 binding protein , regulates the androgen dependent secretion of PSAP and PSA in human LNCaP prostate carcinoma cells . ^^^ In conclusion , we present evidence that JFC 1 differentially regulates the secretion of PSAP and PSA , and that Rab27a and PI3K play a central role in the exocytosis of prostate specific markers . . ^^^ |

| In this study , we discovered that the Slp ( synaptotagmin like protein ) homology domain ( SHD ) of Slp 1 3 and Slac 2 a / b specifically and directly binds the GTP bound form of Rab27A both in vitro and in intact cells but not of the other Rabs tested ( Rab 1 , Rab 2 , Rab3A , Rab 4 , Rab5A , Rab6A , Rab 7 , Rab 8 , Rab 9 , Rab 10 , Rab11A , Rab 17 , Rab 18 , Rab 20 , Rab 22 , Rab 23 , Rab 25 , Rab 28 , and Rab 37 ) . ^^^ Immunocytochemical analysis revealed that Slp 2 ( or Slp 1 ) colocalized with Rab27A in the melanosomes of melanoma cells . ^^^ These results strongly indicated that the SHD of Slp 1 3 and Slac 2 functions as an in vivo Rab27A binding domain . . ^^^ |
