This inhibition is associated with decreased TNFR associated factor 2 binding to CD 40 , decreased NF kappaB binding to the CD 40 responsive element of the Cgamma 3 promoter , decreased Igamma 3 Cgamma3 germline gene transcription , and decreased expression of Ku 70 , Ku 80 , DNA protein kinase , switch associated protein 70 , and Msh 2 CSR associated transcripts . ^^^

MATERIALS AND METHODS : We examined Ku 86 and Ku 70 translocation following CD 40 activation in human MM cells vs normal tonsillar B lymphocytes . ^^^ We then identified the functional sequelae of membrane Ku 86 and Ku 70 expression on CD 40 activated human MM cells . ^^^ RESULTS : CD 40 activation induces translocation of both Ku 86 and Ku 70 to the cell surface of MM cells , but not normal tonsillar B cells . ^^^
