| Functional interaction of Yaf 2 with the central region of MycN . ^^^ By employing the yeast two hybrid system we found that Yaf 2 binds to the central region of MycN . ^^^ Ectopically expressed Yaf 2 , like MycN , is localized in the nuclei of neuroblastoma cells . ^^^ Endogenous Yaf 2 is expressed in all three tested neuroblastoma cell lines , all of which also express MycN . ^^^ Yaf 2 was able to enhance MycN mediated transactivation from an E box promoter , deletion of the Yaf 2 binding region in MycN abrogates this effect . ^^^ |

| We have previously demonstrated that the zinc finger protein Yaf 2 interacts with the central region of MycN and enhances MycN dependent transcriptional activation . ^^^ In contrast to the activating effect on MycN function , Yaf 2 inhibits Myc mediated transactivation and transformation . ^^^ |
