| The structural analysis of the cDNAs showed that AML 1 was fused to a novel gene named MTG 16 ( Myeloid Translocation Gene on chromosome 16 ) which shows high homology to MTG 8 ( ETO / CDR ) and MTGR 1 . ^^^ As in t ( 8 ; 21 ) , the t ( 16 ; 21 ) breakpoints occurred between the exons 5 and 6 of AML 1 , and between the exons 1 and 2 or the exons 3 and 4 of MTG 16 . ^^^ |

| METHODS : SOE method was used to obtain AML 1 MTG 16 fusion gene ' s transcripts . ^^^ MTG 16 , AML 1 MTG16 and AML 1 MTG16 without 3 , 6 conserved domains of MTG 16 segment were inserted into pEGFP C 1 , pDsRed N 1 vector respectively , then transfected NIH3T3 cell line by lipofection . ^^^ MTG 16 , AML 1 MTG16 and AML 1 MTG16 without 3 , 6 conserved domains of MTG 16 were colocalized in the nucleus of cotransfected NIH3T3 cells under the examination of laser scanning confocal microscope . ^^^ MTG 16 may also have a carcinogenic property within the AML 1 MTG16 fusion gene . ^^^ N terminal of MTG 16 may play an important part in the carcinogenic activity of AML 1 MTG16 . . ^^^ |
